My granddaughter (8 1/2) will receive the Kanani doll at Christmas from parents. I wanted to give her the Luau outfit for the doll. I thought at one point it was $23 but when I returned on line saw it had gone to $43. It arrived on time and the seller fulfilled all postal requirements. However, although I am sure she will love the outfit, the price for the two small plastic flower leis (headpiece and neck), a top and muu-muu and two small handheld gourds would be a better buy at $23.max. I now see the price has gone to the $50s which, in my opinion, is ridiculously high for the quality and number of items and is a poor example of taking advantage of a trendy item. If I hadn't told her parents to expect it, I would definitely return it

Absolutely beautiful doll...love the hair and eyes on this one. Someone commented on that no one has blonde hair in Hawaii. Well frankly who cares it's just a doll, and also the hair ISN'T blonde it's light brown. People are looking too much into this. She's a great doll. We also have Samantha. Love the Amer Girl books too!

The picture and text were all about the doll, and the price is much higher than the price the oufit sells for on the official AG site, so I thought it was a really super bargain price for the outfit AND the doll as a set. Silly me - there's no bargain here. I sent it back, so all I lost was the S&H costs, but what a disappointment! American Girl Kanani's Luau Outfit Set for Doll
